The creative expression of intergenerational transmission reflects the dialectic of knowing and not knowing about the trauma suffered by one’s (grand) parents during the Holocaust. 2G and 3G artists creatively wrestle with expressions of the “omnipresent absence”, evoking images directly related to the Holocaust, collectively known and recognized themes, as well as images related to the personal story of the parents.
