Sound meets sight in this evening of cinematic and artistic exploration that highlights the works of Copeland, Wagner, and Respighi. You will:
– Explore Aaron Copeland’s musical contributions to three classic movies: Of Mice and Men, The City, and Our Town.
– Imagine Cosima Wagner’s delight on being woken on Christmas morning with a musical gift from her famous husband.
– Marvel at Ottorino Respighi’s musical depictions of three Italian Renaissance painting by Boticelli.
And it will all be woven together in an engaging and unique musical experience by The Symphonia and Alastair Willis, Principal Conductor.
PROGRAM: COPLAND – Music for Movies, WAGNER – Siegfried Idyll, RESPIGHI – Trittico Botticelliano.
