Yoga 101 | Learning the Basics

This six-part series is meant to teach you the basic skills and techniques of the physical practice of yoga. Each week {every Saturday from 12-1:15pm} you will learn one very important concept and skill. All sessions will be taught by a different Yoga Journey teacher with the intention of you getting to know the team, so you feel familiar and comfortable with many of our teachers. Our teachers are patient and dedicated in sharing their knowledge and giving detailed instruction so that you can learn step by step what you need to be safe and confident. These lessons will be broken down into digestible amounts of information and practice. Each session build on the others, preparing you to in just six weeks to step into a regularly scheduled yoga class.

January 5 | Class ONE – FOUNDATION: Building the roots of the poses and standing your ground

January 12 | Class TWO – CORE: Engaging your strength and learning to create stability and space

January 19 | Class THREE – BREATH: Learning to use the breath as a tool for the mind and the body

January 26 | Class FOUR – FOCUS: Creating a focal point for balance & concentration in movement

February 2 | Class FIVE – SUN SALUTATIONS: Uniting the breath and the movement is vinyasa yoga

February 9 | Class SIX – UNION: Taking all of the skills and putting them together in one practice
