Florida Atlantic University

Part of the Florida Atlantic University, the Dorothy F Schmidt College of Arts and Letters is one of the
Boca region’s most renowned theatre and dance university departments.

The aim of the Department of Theatre and Dance is to allow artists and scholars to develop their
skills in a range of fields, from acting and design to music and dance. They provide a range of
undergraduate programs, graduate programs, scholarships and assistantships that are designed for
those seeking to enhance their performance or management abilities.

Florida Atlantic University holds a number of products per year, from comic masterpieces to William
Shakespeare – and everything in between.

The mission of the department is to engage the highest quality professional training and to provide
an experiential approach to all aspects of theatre and dance; from the front line to behind the
scenes.

The Theatre Lab is also part of the University and aims to inspire, develop and product new work for
artists. Head to the gallery before you attend a show at the theatre and admire the exhibition, while
enjoying fine wine and a light dinner at the Theatre Lab Café.

This fall we will present three retirement related exhibitions acknowledging and celebrating the careers of Professor Carol Prusa; Associate Professor Tammy Knipp; and University Galleries Director Rod Faulds, who each served FAU for more than 20 years.
