BOCA RATON, FL, July 1, 2019 — Tri-County Animal Rescue opened the new Lois Pope Pet Clinic on June 19 in Boca Raton. The Clinic’s opening was made possible by a $2 million gift from Lois Pope to complete the center. The Clinic is a high-tech, state-of-the-art medical facility with an x-ray machine, ultrasound, dental x-ray and dental cleaning machines and an MRI machine that has been generously donated by the American Humane Society. All will be used for the animals under the care of Tri-County Animal Rescue.
The opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by nearly 100 top community leaders and philanthropists.
“We are so grateful to Lois Pope for her incredible gift that made this vital building a reality,” Suzi Goldsmith said. “Thousands more dogs and cats will be saved because of the medical services that will be provided in this building.”
Beginning in July, people who cannot afford to take their pet to a vet will be able to, with proof of income, bring their animals to Tri-County for medical and dental care. Tri-County is the only non-profit in South Palm Beach County that focuses on saving the lives of dogs and cats.
Tri-County Animal Rescue is in the midst of a multi-million dollar capital campaign to build a new 64,000 square foot campus that will feature state-of-the-art canine and feline adoption centers, long-term housing, isolation areas for rescues and a third building designed for special needs, extended care, and senior center as well as Hospets. The new campus will have an agility course, in ground pool and dog recreation area. Much of the new campus will be available to the public including the mausoleum with a serenity garden and there will be increased in-ground burial plots. It will have services available for the community with its new boarding and grooming facility and Tri-County Animal Rescue’s Thrift Shop which will be moved on property. There will be dedicated public spaces for education and training programs.
